I find inspiration all around me. I try to make my music representative of myself and my generation. I love the places that most people don't give a second glance.
Born in Cleveland, Oh I was raised on Country and Rock. These themes are prevalent in my music. My parents had everything from Merle to Motown and I soaked them all in.
My music is about real life . I write about things that I feel. I am not afraid to throw myself into my songs and it shows. Each album is a collection of my feelings during the time they were written. Get a CD on sale at the Shop
... FROM TERRY DOUGLAS .. .. .. .. ..
In a year that has had a lot of ups and downs, I am still thankful. Thankful for my family, friends, fans, and band. But what I am thankful for the most is growth.
Growth as a man, father, husband, friend, and music.
As an artist, you grow, adapt, or fade away. In 2020 we have had a huge year of growth. We scrapped an album to write a new one because the timing was not right. We found our sound as a band to build on for the future. We figured out who we are as a band and elevated it. As the year went on we continued to work. Me on songwriting, the guys on tones, honing their crafts.
As we go into 2021 we are ready to take all opportunities that come our way because we grew in a time where it would have been easy to just ride it out. we rehearsed like the next show was the biggest of our lives.
I am thankful that we grew as a band, as brothers and our fans and family love what we do! We are looking forward to our 4th year together as a band and what the new year may bring
WE CELEBRATE !!
In a year where positive news is limited. My Band and I forged forward. While we were in the first "stay at home" order, I wrote. Sending videos to the band. We started rehearsing and went into the studio. In my heart I knew what these songs would be something special however, my band of brothers took them to a new level.
We hit the studio ( Earthwork Recording Studio ) with Brandon Bakes. He pushed us, made our good songs better. We added some piano from Rick and some killer harmonies from Megan and the band and we were done.. well almost.... There was something missing on a couple tracks. Then it hit me FIDDLE!! I called up Brandon and asked him if he knew a fiddle player and he did.. Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper a grammy award-winning fiddle player did the tracks. He brought the tracks to life!!
It takes a tremendous amount of time, money, energy, and preservice to put out an album. My guys stepped up to the plate every time. I asked a lot from them and they stepped up.
As a songwriter, a little piece of you goes out every time you release a song. I wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 11 tracks on the album. We did cut one of my favorite songwriter's songs, Ron Speaks Music.
